Hundreds of people groups around the world have no alphabet for their language. Instead, they have passed knowledge from generation to generation through the spoken word, to minds trained to remember accurately — like many of the people Jesus spoke to during His time on earth.

To get God’s Word to them, we could spend decades creating a writing system, translating the Bible into it, and teaching all of the people to read for the first time. Or we could spend a few years bringing Scripture to them in a form they already understand — the spoken word.

That’s the heart behind Oral Bible Translation (OBT), and the Biblica family is playing an important role in this effective evangelism strategy.
