I was so excited to start this devotional and now I'm 12 weeks in and I can already see it blessing my marriage. Each chapter is pretty short, so it doesn't feel daunting or overwhelming to make a part of your routine. I've been doing a small section each day and then finish whatever I have left on Fridays. All the advice is biblically sound and needed in our world today that tells you that if you fall out of love or get tired of being with the same person, it's okay to move on without them. The topics really reach into the deep parts of what makes a marriage work. Thoughts like humility, priority, joy, and delight to name a few, start the chapters off with a brief story and then gives you scripture and a little bit of homework to think about and how to apply it to your marriage.
I think the thing I appreciate the most about this book is that it is focused on you as the reader of how to think or work on different areas in your marriage instead of pointing to the husband and saying they need to fix this. It's about you and how you can come along your husband to be more connected.
My husband and I have both been independently working on these books and I've already seen a difference in our own marriage. What's fun is if you do it together, occasionally there will be a chapter where you get taken to your spouse about the topic and ask them questions which I think is really fun.

Lisa Jacobson is one of my favorite writers, and this devotion doesn't disappoint. Her first sentence in each chapter pulls you immediately into a real experience in her own home, and her wisdom comes from her own application of Bible truth in her life. One of my favorite devotions in this book is the one about anxiety, which is something I've been struggling with the last couple of years. These are timely devotions.
