The popular Thompson® Chain-Reference® Bible—for more than 100 years published by Kirkbride Bible Company, Inc.—will now be published by Zondervan, part of HarperCollins Christian Publishing.

The Thompson Chain-Reference Bible is a well-known topical study Bible first published in 1908 using the King James Version (KJV) Bible translation. Today it’s also available with four more translations: New King James Version (NKJV); New International Version (NIV); New American Standard Bible (NASB); and the English Standard Version (ESV).

In 1890, Dr. Frank Charles Thompson, creator of the Thompson Chain-Reference system, began working on the “chain-links” that are the foundation of the unique Thompson referencing system used by millions of Bible readers internationally. Published at the turn of the 20th century, it retains its appeal and now contains over 100,000 references, archeological notes, journey maps, and over 100 helpful features to enhance personal or group Bible study.
